Times are bad.

Retrenchments are on the stealthy rise. Many around me are retrenched. Many more are worried about that scary pat on their shoulders.

I understand.

Dealing with the prospect of retrenchment is not easy. And we face it daily. Me too.

Is it tiring? Yes.

And this is nothing compared to my HR consultant friend.

Mass vomiting

No kidding.

Doris made that statement.

“I have been in this HR consulting line for 7 years. I have never seen this. Companies are vomiting people out of their workplaces. I am buried in resumes and CVs every single day. Some are top performers in their ex-companies, too. I’m appalled.”

Doris is vomiting her woes on me, too.

But no matter. Doris needed a vent.

This is not the time to interrupt.

Doris has the hallmarks of a brilliant consultant. She can think, structure her thoughts coherently, and talk simultaneously.
